Carsten Faber

Ophthalmologist, PhD

Carsten Faber has worked in ophthalmology since 2003, where he worked with xenotransplantation of the cornea. He received a PhD in immunological aspects of age-related macular degeneration from the University of Copenhagen in 2013. Since then, he has specialised in clinical ophthalmology and is now a consultant in ocular oncology and vitreoretinal surgery at Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen.

Carsten is chair of the Danish Ocular Oncology Group, fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmologists and clinical associate professor at the University of Copenhagen. His clinical and scientific interests include the retina and choroid in relation to health and disease. He is involved in several ongoing research projects and has published 35 peer-reviewed papers.
