Daddi Fadel

Optometrist, specialist in specialty contact lenses

Daddi Fadel (DOptom, FSLS, FBCLA, FAAO) is an optometrist and internationally recognised as a specialist in contact lenses for irregular cornea, scleral lenses, myopia control, and orthokeratology. She studied optometry at Istituto Superiore di Scienze Optometriche (ISSO) in Rome – a four-year course that she finished in three years with honours. Right from her first year, Daddi started to lecture and publish, which she still does to date.

Daddi runs an optometric practice in Italy, specialising in contact lenses, where she designs and fits special customised contact lenses. With her expertise in speciality contact lenses and more than 20 years of experience, she has several peer-reviewed publications and is a well-known speaker at national and international conferences.

Daddi is the author of Scleral Lens Issues and Complications: Their recognition, Etiology, and Management. With Dr Melissa Barnett, she has written the Clinical Guide for Scleral Lens Success. She’s also the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Contact Lens Research & Science (JCLRS).
