Danson V. Muttuvelu

Senior Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon

Dr Danson is a highly respected senior consultant ophthalmic surgeon, particularly known for his skills in complex cataract surgery and his interest in cataract surgery education. Danson is very passionate about teaching, and lectures ophthalmologists and optometrists across the Nordics (Copenhagen, Stockholm, Kalmar, Helsinki).

Next to his work at the Aarhus University Hospital, he’s involved in many organisations and initiatives within the eye care industry. He’s the current chair of the Danish Cataract and Refractive Society, past chair of the society of the young ophthalmologist in Denmark (FAYO), represented in various pan-national ophthalmology societies, and – last but not least – co-founder of one of the only e-health solution that provides telemedical and innovative cost-benefit eye care solutions for local governments and industries.

Danson is a strong believer in providing better access to eye care across the globe and is profoundly engaged in NGOs providing cataract surgery and co-established a non-profit eye clinic.
