Heidi Buchholt
Optometry consultant
Heidi Buchholt got her master’s degree in Clinical Optometry from Pennsylvania College of Optometry (Salus University) in the US, in 2005. She’s now a passionate optometry consultant with years of experience from lecturing at the Danish College of Optometry & Visual Science, managing patients in clinical practice (optometry and ophthalmology) and corporate business management as the former Head of Professional Advancement at Louis Nielsen (Specsavers’ brand name in Denmark). Furthermore, she sits on various professional advisory boards, censor corps and the competence development fund for Danish optometrists.
Her professional areas of interest are:
- Disease detection, screening, and monitoring of patients in optometric practice
- Referral to and collaboration with ophthalmologists
- Telemedicine / e-health / video consultation
- Quality control and audit
- Clinical guidelines
