Karim Makdoumi

Consultant Ophthalmologist

Karim Makdoumi, MD, PhD, is a specialist ophthalmologist working at the Örebro University Hospital as a senior physician, focussing on vitreoretinal and cataract surgery.

He is an affiliated researcher at Örebro University, and – besides teaching at the university – he has been involved in several educational workshops, seminars, and symposia for opticians, other healthcare professionals and physicians. Karim has also published and peer-reviewed several scientific publications within his field and has been the supervisor for various bachelor, master, and PhD students.

On the programme
Karim will give a case-based lecture about how a clinical support tool works in practice (in Swedish). He’ll also be part of a panel discussing how to keep up now the optometry profession is changing, together with Tony Pansell, Eva Sturk Franzén, Rune Brautaset, Oskar Johansson, and Erik Ryderberg.
