Christopher Lee

Associate Director, Product Management, Glaucoma at Topcon Healthcare

United States of America

Biography

After finishing his undergraduate studies, Chris happened to find a job at a small independent optometry/ophthalmology practice, where he worked his way from answering phone calls to being the lead imager. This started a passion for imaging so he left the practice to become a technician at the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore where he spent his time in the glaucoma clinic. Later, he was started working in clinical research and went on to become the Head of the Clinical Research Department for glaucoma. While working at John Hopkins University, Chris also finished his bachelor’s degree and started two Master studies. Although he enjoyed managing and learning so much, he missed the clinic and the daily work with patients. That’s when he began working for an imaging company as a Clinical Applications specialist, training and installing devices, and lecturing on ocular imaging.

Finally, Chris joined Topcon Healthcare, where he assists researchers and clinicians in evaluating Topcon technology to help improve it and find ways to better educate users how they can get the most from their Topcon products. He’s currently working to help create better tools on Topcon devices and research potential new solutions. His area of expertise remains glaucoma, although he understands the clinical practice very well. The thing he loves most about his work is being part of a company and industry that helps to optimise and save people’s sight.

Chris was born and raised in New York City, a city that he still loves. Outside of work, he loves being active and reading science fiction. Travel is also a big passion, and he hopes to see as many parts of the world as he can and experience many different cultures.
