Biography
Jonas Upphagen loves teaching hands-on practical tools to optician assistants and optometrists. His company EyeKnow offers courses for practitioners who wish to upgrade their skill set. Jonas takes every opportunity to work with the latest technology and inventions. He holds a master’s degree in clinical optometry.
To Jonas, “the most fun thing about working as an optician is being able to help people get a better vision and work in an industry with great development opportunities”. Every month, he treats peers with his podcast OptikerPodden, dealing with the latest trends in symptom detection, treatment methods, industry news, and education.
Jonas has practised as an optician in Synsam and different eye clinics. His competence-building courses mix theory with commercial practice. He teaches classes such as “industry-related communication and optical technology service”, “the eye’s anatomy and diseases”, and “optician assistant with sales skills” at Folkeuniversitet in Sweden.
