Vitreoretinal surgeon at Radboud University Medical Centre
Biography
Dr Niels Crama treats all kinds of vitreoretinal disorders and trains future surgeons at the Radboud University Medical Centre. To him, it is important to connect with peers from all over the world. So once a year, he attends surgical sessions with cross-country colleagues.
He stays updated on innovation in healthcare, especially new ways of improving patient education and implementing e-health. The surgeon initially took his MD at Erasmus University Medical Centre in Rotterdam. In 2000, he started his ophthalmology residency at the Radboud University Medical Centre in Nijmegen, where he now teaches and works.
Since then, he has published several studies on surgical treatment methods and their effect on different patient profiles. Niels was also the president of the Dutch Vitreoretinal society from 2013 to 2019.
Niels has contributed to Viewpoint with several short lectures. During Clinical Conference 2021 and 2022 Niels participated in a panel discussion and as a speaker of two masterclasses. All videos are available here on Viewpoint.
