A 29-year-old female visits your practice with complaints of visual obscuration. She's been experiencing flickering lights in the temporal visual fields of her left eye and a greying image in the same eye over the last few weeks. The patient is in good general health, has no recent history of infections, is overweight, and isn't taking any medications, including contraceptive pills. At the time of presentation, her visual acuity measures 6/6 in both eyes with glasses, her colour vision is within normal limits, and her eye movements are regular in all directions of gaze.
