A 15-year-old male comes to you from another city. He is perfectly healthy and wears glasses with a refraction of -1.50 Sph – these are approximately 9 months old, and he thinks he may see a slightly worse in the distance with them. His main priority today is to see if he can be fitted with contact lenses while playing football. He has very good visual acuity, and there is no change in refraction. Pupillary reflexes and motility are found to be normal, and cover/uncover test shows a very small exophoria at both distance and near. IOP is 15mmHg in both eyes. The patient’s posterior segment of the right eye is shown in the following fundus photograph.
