Biography

Sarah Morgan is an optometrist and staff development consultant. She has worked in contact lens clinical research at The University of Manchester where she gained her MPhil for her evaluation of the first daily disposable contact lenses. Sarah continues to lecture and lead clinical sessions at The University of Manchester and holds the post of Vision Sciences Fellow specialising in contact lenses and communication skills. Sarah lectures extensively as a key-note speaker across Europe, North America, South Africa, Hong
Kong, Israel, Australia and New Zealand. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and is a fellow, past council member and PR officer of the British Contact Lens Association.

At the start of her career, Sarah worked in a variety of independent and multiple practices, which led to her passion for training for all members of the practice team and establishing her consultancy business eyecommunicate. She has a wide portfolio of projects, including staff development work, and advising professional organisations, optical media and manufacturers both in the UK and globally. She’s currently working on the next edition of her sell-out textbook ‘The Complete Optometric Assistant’.

Sarah is married to optometrist Philip Morgan and they have two children. Sarah is a professional actress, after-dinner speaker and stand-up comedian and performs regularly in comedy clubs as a solo stand-up act. She plays the piano and a few other musical instruments, and she recently undertook opera training and includes this as a twist in her comedy routines. Her YouTube videos, The Presbyopia Song and The Myopia Control Song, unite the optometry world with her passion to educate and entertain.

During Clinical Conference 2021, 2022, and 2023, Sarah has hosted the conferences and participated in panel discussions. All videos are available here on Viewpoint.
