Biography
Dr Danson V. Muttuvelu, MD FEBO, is a highly esteemed consultant ophthalmic surgeon based in Denmark and the United Kingdom, who specialises in the fields of refractive surgery and complex cataract surgery. He is a leader in his field and has gained much experience over the years: he has performed over 10,000 procedures, served as a co-founder and immediate past-chair of the Danish Cataract and Refractive Society, past chair of the society of young ophthalmologists in Denmark, and a past representative for the European Society of Ophthalmologists (SOE-YO).
Danson is also the co-founder of one of the largest e-health companies – a company that provides telemedical solutions and innovative cost-benefit eye-care solutions for local governments and industries. Furthermore, he is a member of several medical industry advisory boards, demonstrating his expertise and commitment to advancing the field of ophthalmology. Danson is an advocate for improving access to eye care worldwide through innovation, actively engaged in non-governmental organisations that provide cataract surgery, and co-established a non-profit eye clinic.
Last but not least, Dr Danson is asked by many as a lecturer, where he shares his knowledge with ophthalmologists, optometrists, and MBA students across Europe.
